Hauls from HK and Macau

HK is really a shopping haven!! Look at the things I bought!!!

(excluding gifts for family..they grabbed it before I could take this photo...)

OK...Now I'm gonna list them down one by one.
I have not been buying handbags for a reaaaally really long time. So, yeah, I went a little crazy when I see many nice bags in HK :P

1. Dark brown genuine leather bag (lambskin)(小羊皮)
2
. Stripey faux leather bag
3
. Latte colour faux leather bag (yes..me likey leather bags..be it genuine or faux)

4. Waterproof spray from Muji - for the leather bag

5. Chip & Dale pillow from Disneyland (I'm still looking for a big transparent plastic bag to protect it from the dust..my room is quite dusty =.= any idea where I can get them?)

6. Dead Chicken phone strap
7
. Octopus phone strap (for myself..to clean my camera screen lol)

Skincare over there is rather cheap...and they have much more variety for me to choose...so..

8. Pura Natura Simply Rose Fluid Body Cream (rosy smell, me likey!)
9. Pura Natura Almond face cream (for mom, not in photo, she likes it)

I got 3 sample moisturisers, 1 sample eye cream, and 2 samples of body lotion for free from the purchase of 8 and 9.

10. Silk Whitia Highly Concentrated Collagen Milky Mask (red) - these were on BOGOF
11. Silk Whitia Highly Concentrated Hydrating Mask (green) - ditto
12
. My Beauty Diary masks - Q10 Rejuvenating Mask (tried one, and love it :D)
13
. My Beauty Diary masks - Black Pearl Mask

14. Borghese Brightening Mud Mask for Face and Body - on sale

15. Muji hand cream (below waterproof spray)
16
. Clinique hand cream
17
. Whitist Day Essence (SPF 50+ PA++) and Night Essence
18
. Aqua Label White Emulsion and Aqua Enhancer

19. Pantene Clinicare Hair Time Renewal Shampoo

20. Muji facial cotton pads (unbleached)

21. Kose Cosmeport Softymo Airy Whip cleanser
22. Sana Soy Milk toner
23. Biore makeup remover + cleanser

That's all for skincare products. Let's move on to cosmetics, shall we?

24. Aube Designing Eyes in 504 (Pink) which I've been wanting to try!!

Love the sleek design of the palette

Pigmentation is a liiiiiitle disappointing, the light and medium pink is quite sheer. But that's what the brand intends to deliver - a very natural look. I don't even have to blend the shadows. No harsh lines at all. I used it in Day 7.

From Day 7: Sorry my eyes were a little red..lack of sleep x.x

From Day 7: Those are not my double eyelids..my eyelids were pushed up by the false eyelashes xD
and uh..sorry for the messy hair..

25. Bourjois Blush 34 Rose D'or - I love the one I bought in SG, so I got myself another one :) This is a very sweet blue-toned dolly pink. I also used it in Day 7. Rose D'or is much more pigmented than my Rose Coup de Foudre.

26. Aube Dual Color Eyeliner 22 (Pink) - Nice smooth lines. Used the pink end for Day 7.

27. Lavshuca Eye Color Select in BR-1. Used this in Day 6.

28. Fancl Highlight Color - my first highlighter! ^^

And...lipgloss! Some are souvenirs for friends.

29. Clinique Colour Surge Impossibly Glossy 21 - Azalea (came in packet of 3 with no. 30 and 31)
30
. Clinique Colour Surge Impossibly Glossy 120 - Pink Crush
31. Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss 10 - Grapefruit
32
. Clinique Full Potential Lips Plump and Shine 08 - Play-Full Plump
33
and 34. Estee Lauder High Gloss 11 - Blush
35
. Estee Lauder Crystal Gloss in 304 Sweet Pea and Gloss in 105 Nude Rose

36. Shiseido Eyelash Curler 213 (drugstore, not counter)

Not too much of cosmetics eh?? Up next, something wearable.

37. Anna Sui's Sui Love EDT full version - very cheap compared to counter price!! (I already have this mini version for years, love the sweet scent)

38. Esprit White Shirt - from Esprit Outlet Store. Size is still a little big. But I like the cutting.
39
. Esprit tee for mom
40
and 41. 2 Esprit tees for brother
42
. Esprit tee for bro's gf

43. Kotex White sanitary pads - these are wearable also right? xD (I personally find it much more comfortable than the Msia's Kotex pads..)
44
. G2000 belt for dad

It's 3.20AM..and I'm feeling a little hungry...so what's next? EDIBLE items!

45. 咀香园 assorted cookie
46
. 咀香园 Sesame cookie
47
. 钜记 Mung bean cookie
48
. 钜记 Almond cookie (no photo..it finishes before I could take one.. Tasted too good!!)

49. Zanthoxylum 花椒 - spice

Hmm....what else.... AAAHHH!

50.
Monchichi for Big brother

OMIGOSH...50 items!!! I didn't realise that until now!!!

-_________-

I'm speechless.

Oh yeah, I also brought home these...

BLISTERS!!!

Look at that!!! it's
HUGE ok. Almost half the size of my little toe.

I poked it few days after returning home..
It was pure...ewww-y...

I've never ever walked
SO MUCH in my entire life...

Their shopping malls have NO benches at all.

The only times that we sat down was when we eat or drink.

Boutiques also no place to sit...

Only SOME tourist places have places to sit. Limited one summore...

So, imagine some non-stop walking for at least 14 hours a day...for 8 whole days...

I'm lucky to not have blisters on all my toes...

Only had it on 3 toes.

And..the thing is...I wore sneakers most of the time >.<

No wonder I hardly see any plump girls there..!

Now...this is really the end of the HK/Macau series.

Thanks for reading! :D

Night
Home :(

We started our journey after having buffet breakfast at the hotel. We first took bus to the A-Ma Temple. Freaking cold at the bus stop! Darn wind. Macau in general is colder than HK, less buildings there.

Nothing much can be said about A-Ma Temple. It's only a temple...

Caught someone taking bridal photos nearby XD

So we also took a couple photo... :P

We then went to Museu Maritimo which was only few steps away from the temple...

..and listen to the story of A-Ma. Listen through the phone lol. Really. And 'watched' a puppet show.

->

How can we not try Portuguese Egg Tart while we're in Macau?? We tried the one from 钜记饼家 Koi Kei Bakery. Koi Kei is famous for their Almond cookies by the way :) We bought a few boxes home hehhe.

My fingernails look very pinkish here hahaha!

HmmmMmm...layersss... It tasted good. Yet I still prefer the one from HK's Honolulu Coffee Shop (or something) XD

We then walk walk walk and walk....passing by all the places that I mentioned in the schedule above..

港務局大樓 Lilau Square

...

亞婆井前地 Moorish Barracks

Pets' toilet!!

聖老楞佐教堂 St. Lawrence’s Church

A school that links to 聖若瑟修院聖堂 (St. Joseph’s Seminary and Church)

聖若瑟修院聖堂 St. Joseph’s Seminary and Church

崗頂前地 St. Augustine’s Square

何東圖書館 Sir Robert Ho Tung Library

This should be the 崗頂劇院 Dom Pedro V Theatre. I'm not sure. haha!

Finally! The city!

This is where the shopping area starts :)

仁慈堂大樓 Holy House of Mercy

Some movie-shooting was going on there.

We later found out that SIMON YAM 任达华 was in that movie!! He walked past us later, after we had our dinner.

Another church....I'm guessing this is the 澳門主教座堂 Cathedral Square lol. I really can't remember!!

From Cafe E.S.Kimo : 盐酥鸡 (fried salted chicken???)

From Cafe E.S.Kimo : Macau's famous Pork Burger (猪扒包). It's actually quite nice. It's just that, the burger a tad too dry and hard.

The end of the streets

We've reached Ruins of St. Paul’s (大三巴牌坊) !

Must take photo lah this one XD

These 2 girls requested to take photo with me...NO JOKE! We were so confused.

难道她们以为我是什么大明星???? LOL

It's really beautiful..fascinating..

Below the Ruins of St. Paul. A memorial hall of those who had sacrificed for the religion..I think. There were quite a number of real human bones in there..I could see some are femur....lol

Also below the Ruins of St. Paul
(Kath, if you're reading this, this photo is for YOU xDD)

Back to the surface. It's too beautiful to not to take photos XD

We CLIMBED up to Mount Fortress (大炮台). So many staircase!! damn.

Everybody, meet Fifi XD

大炮...

小炮... xD

没有炮...

I like this little house/restaurant :)

and also the dog xD

Museu de Macau

How come my mouth so big?

Macau City. Tallest building is the Lisboa casino.

big tree (ran out of captions)

Him holding the Ruins of St. Paul....and a girl running down. I find her pose quite amusing lol

I had a really lousy drink after that. 芒果益力多绿茶 (Mango Yakult Green Tea). Do not try.

....

玫瑰堂 Casa Garden...I think xD

Dinner at 连胜风行咖啡美食... Estabelecimento de comidas cafe Quinell....(can't see). This is Portuguese Baked Spicy Lamb or something. When we were ordering, the waitress exclaimed "oh! you guys can take spicy food ehh???" But...it's not spicy at all..........I couldn't taste the chilli =.= The lamb was really good though!!

We heard a few gunshots while having dinner...movie-shooting outside mar... Quite interesting though XD They sounded so real!

It was almost 6pm after we had our dinner. Our flight was at 7.50pm, and we were still in Macau City! We tried to hail a cab but failed. They said it was because that was due to the change of shift among taxi drivers. We got a little panicked as clock was ticking. We finally gave up on getting a cab and decided to wait for a bus instead. Every single bus was packed to the brim! We even stood at the wrong side of the road. A really nice bus driver told us that we should wait across the road for the bus that goes back to Regency Hotel.

At about 6.30pm, we boarded the correct bus. *phew*. Journey back to Taipa was only about 10-15 minutes.

We reached the hotel at about 6.45pm. Went to the loo, grabbed our luggage, and got into the cab that our Portuguese door man called for us (aww, his service was too good~ ). He said that we still have a lot of time lol.

Journey to airport was about 10 minutes. We reached there at around 7.05-7.10pm. THANK GOD the counter was still open.

And so, we boarded the plane on time, and bade goodbye to Macau! and HK.

Sad larrr...Didn't want to come back to Malaysia..

But we HAD to, didn't have much money left... LOL

THE END!

hahahahaha...I'm ending this post too abruptly.

Too tired to think of a proper one. Just had a badminton game this evening.

Ok...The end of the series... *breath out*

Thanks for reading ... and Goodnight!

Hong Kong Day 7, Macau Day 1

Please visit my multiply for more photos =D *click here*

Bored of HK? No worries, this is the last day of HK! And first day of Macau =þ

SCHEDULE

Early Morning
Mong Kok: 海景粥店 (Seaview Congee Shop)

Morning-Late Noon
Somewhere in Kowloon:志莲净菀 (The Chi Lin Nunnery),Hollywood Plaza, 黄大仙祠 (Wong Tai Sin Temple),九龙城寨公园 (Kowloon Walled City Park)
Mong Kok: Subway Station (return Octopus Card), McD
Tsim Sha Tsui: HK-China Ferry Station

Evening - Night
Macau: Regency Hotel, 峰景餐厅(Restaurant Bee Vee),Crown, G.M. Casino

Our last meal in HK at our favourite congee shop - 海景粥店 (Seaview). Ate our last plate of 炸两 (Zha Leong) and final bowl of their signature dish. =(

Then, we headed to 志莲净菀 (The Chi Lin Nunnery). No nuns though lol. It's small and it's practically empty. Only some nice historical building. It's not a very big place, yet, the 'park' provides a very nice background for photo-taking. Some places are prohibited. Too many valuables I guess?

The sun was really bright

Lotus

Since Ei-leen likes couple pics, I shall present you..

XD

A weird fella wanted to take photo WITH us here -_-" Btw, I also think that the apartments at the background do not fit in this picture. This photo is like a funny fusion between modernization and historical =.= (and nature too!)

南莲苑池 - linked to The Chi Lin Nunnery.

This park was only filled by us and a group of old people (beside me) lol.

He is really proud of this photo. It's his masterpiece..

We then did some last minute shopping around Hollywood Plaza (which is only beside the park), and ate an Egg Tart! Not as nice as the one we had the day before though...This one is more Malaysian Style. But the yellow part (dunno what it's called) was reaaally soft! Softer than jelly xD

Next stop was 黄大仙祠 (Wong Tai Sin Temple).

It was pretty crowded with middle-age & old people. Oklah, probably not-so in this photo.

Joss sticks were provided for free. Yet some old ladies were still trying to sell joss sticks to tourists -__-

I hate the background with apartments =.= Ruin the 'feel' of the photo. There are simply too many condos/apartments in HK!!

XD

v^0^

Tortoise...

Our last stop in HK..the most disappointing/boring of all: 九龙城寨公园 (Kowloon Walled City Park). Time wasting...

TMD....we took mini bus to come here summore...#@$%^#

Entrance

Since we have nothing to do at this park.. (yes, it is the traditional kind of park -_-) We picnic-ed with the food we tapao-ed from Hollywood Plaza! xD

We came ALL the way to picnic....@$&#$%..yes I'm still cursing..rather spend the time to shop or go to Macau earlier..

Hmm..The nice scenery + bf's feeding does not make the food more yummy LOL.

It's squeezable! xDD
Top: 桂花味 (Google translated it as sweet-scented osmanthus flavour)
Bottom: 芝麻味 (Black sesame flavour)
Both are too sweet for my liking.

I rather take picture HAHA. We don't have much chance to take walks in parks in Malaysia...

I like how the sunlight shines on us =D

When there's no sun... he became *wiggle eyebrows* braver and hungrierrrr. I shy xD

Ok the end of our visits to tourist-y places!

Time to return the most convenient card we've ever had.

八达通 aka Octopus Card! It can be used on ALL transportation (all subways and buses), and some restaurants, and entrance fee of some places.

Our last meal in HK - MCD! We were starving, to save time, we decided to give MCD another try. This time, I had the limited edition (ceh) pork burger only available during CNY, like our prosperity burger lah. Allow me to present you, 麻辣板烧猪柳包 (Spicy grilled pork burger).

I forgot to take picture of the actual burger. Was too hungry. The taste was OK. Not really spicy, maybe because I can take really spicy food, this spicyness is kacang to me lol. I prefer the pork McMuffin that I had in Ocean Park.

We subsequently took cab to the pier and took ferry to Macau! Managed to catch the ferry at 5pm. Reached Macau at about 6.30pm (?) The normal travel time is about 50-55 minutes. It delayed because of the bad weather. The ferry was kinda swingy cuz of the waves. A man beside us vomited. I didn't know that because I was sleeping like a pig throughout the whole journey XD

damn tired ok!

blablabla.. we then took cab to Regency Hotel in 氹仔Taipa (not Macau city). But Macau is really small....It only took like 10 minutes to reach the hotel.

I felt as if I was in heaven when I got into the room!

probably because I'd stayed in HOSTEL for 6 days... this is HOTEL man..! Former 5-star hotel!

Me super satisfied with the toilet hahaha. And also the room lah. FINALLY, a DECENT toilet. Dragon Hostel's toilet only allow me to twist and turn. Couldn't walk at all.

Too bad we were only staying for a night.

Happy me must camwhore!!

woohoo

The famous "V" sign is back!

I hardly take any close-ups in this trip... I look as if I have double eye-lid..

These lightings provide us an opportunity to 'attempt' an artistic shot ;)

Hmm..after sleeping on some rock-hard beds for 6 nights...These are...sooo luxurious *teary eyes*!

I like the old-fashioned windows behind me.

That night was bloody cold...I MEAN IT... oh that's their mailbox.. Cute right? ;)

We walked to this restaurant called 峰景餐厅 (Restaurant Bee Vee) after reading some good reviews of it online. Luckily that it was only a 15 minutes walk from our hotel (we have no idea where it is..only had a rough guide on the venue). I would have become an ice cube if it was more than that. It's a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.

Not cheap wei. (Roughly divide it by 2)

One pot is big enough for 2. We ordered their famous 水蟹粥 (water crab congee, or is it fresh water crab congee?)

Hmm Hmm...it's REALLY GOooOD. Highly recommended! I'll definitely return if I have the chance to visit Macau again.

While walking back...
Left: G.M. Casino
Top left: Crown
Middle left: Regency Hotel

Brrrr....thanks to the wind from the sea...we were actually beside the sea :)

G.M. Casino has all these greek-inspired figures.
And oh, it's my first visit to casino~
One of the guards asked about my age jokingly =.=

I went to both G.M. Casino and Crown. Not impressed lol. It's too empty! Not as noisy and crowded as I see on tv.. Probably because there are too many casinos in Macau. Most gamblers would have been to the ones in Macau city eg Wynn, Lisboa, Grande something etc.

Ah, I didn't gamble. No money already laa..lol.

However, watching others winning and losing money is kinda entertaining.

OKLAH...that's all for my second last day :)

I'll finish up the last day asap!

I enjoy blogging about the trip actually. Brings me back to memory lane :)

All the sweet memories. Ahh~

xD

p/s: I'm really into using "xD" lately.

Hong Kong Day 6

Please visit my multiply for more photos by clicking here :D

In our itinerary, we left this day flexible for 3 things that we could do.
  1. Visit New Territories
  2. Go Shen Zhen ( shopping at Luo Hu or go to the tourist places)
  3. SHOPPING
After seeing sooo many nice and beautiful things for the past few days, we decided to utilize our last full day to shop till we drop! Plus, we had been through a very tiring and hectic 5-day fun, time to slow down a little ;) We'd also been trying to suppress the urge to buy stuff on the past few days when we saw nice stuff in the shops. Well, ok, I shopped in Day 2, too :D

We woke up a little later this day too lol, been waking up later and later every day... Shopping malls in HK open quite late, earliest 11am, some shops open at 12 Noon.

So, here goes our schedule.

SCHEDULE

Morning
Central: 莲香楼 (Lin Heung Tea House), 春回堂药行(Chow Wui Tong/Good Spring Co.), 檀岛咖啡饼店 (Honolulu Coffee Shop)

Before Noon - Night
Causeway Bay: Kimberly Plaza, Sogo, few other shopping malls, 满记甜品 (Honeymoon Dessert),池记云吞面 (Chi Kee Wonton Noodle), Times Square

Late Night
Mong Kok: 海皇粥店 (Ocean Empire)

Breakfast at a dim sum restaurant called 莲香楼 (Lin Heung Tea House). SUPER CROWDED. We waited for quite some time for only 2 seats. In the end, we shared a table with 3 other couples (some are friends). 2 Taiwanese guys, a couple from China, 2 middle-aged women that was probably local. Awhile later, a middle-aged man joined our table. A local, alone. 9 people sitting in a table for six -____-"

This is one of the few dim sum restaurant in HK that reserves the traditional method of selling dim sum. It's like Malaysian style, whereby the staff will push a trolley with dim sum around the restaurant. But most of the time, the nice ones would be gone if you want to wait for the trolley to reach your seat. You have to GO TO the trolley to get food.

We also ordered 虾饺(prawn dumpling, no photo). Overall...we were kinda disappointed. It did not taste as nice as we thought it would be. The crowd does not justify for that!!! I liked the curry squid the most. Chicken feet and pig's knuckle were quite nice and unique, too. The rest? Nothing special.

After the disappointing meal, we took a sip of herbal tea at 春回堂药行(Chow Wui Tong/Good Spring Co.) nearby.

This is the Central Mid-Level Escalator on daytime :) Many people uses it. The street was filled with people omg. Everyone was dressed in black or grey!

As full as we were, we still couldn't resist on getting a bite on 檀岛咖啡饼店 (Honolulu Coffee Shop)'s egg tarts, and trying out their coffee. This restaurant is famous for those 2 items, according to our guide book. And yes, it is right! The BEST egg tart I ate in HK. Even better than the ones in Macau. As for the coffee, it has a unique taste to it, very nice!

When our tummy could not take in anything more, we proceeded to Causeway Bay, the shopping area~

I'd received an order by my big brother to get him a MonChiChi. This was the only store I found selling such a complete collection of it. This toy is NOT CHEAP. More expensive than the toy figures in Disneyland! I wasn't suppose to take photos, but I did anyway, this is in Kimberly Plaza. There were lots of small boutiques in the mall. But they were too pricey to me, plus, I don't need winter clothings...

I forgot which mall was this in... 满记甜品 (Honeymoon Dessert). They are famous for this 杨枝甘露 + Tau Foo Fah. Basically it's Mango + Sago + Pamelo + Tao Foo Fah. Not bad. I quite like this.

Dinner at 池记云吞面 (Chi Kee Wonton Noodle)

The noodles were very nice and chewy. Big fat juicy prawns in the Wan Tan and the Pork Tenderloins were really 'Q' (chewy..). Recommended! But the portion was too small..

I didn't like this 番薯糖水 (Sweet Potato soup). Too ginger-y.

Times Square. If we stayed for another half-an-hour or so, we might be able to meet Tony Leung and possibly Chi-Ling! They were having a press conference there for Red Cliff 2.

That tiny bowl of Wan Tan Mee where can satisfy our big tummy?? After shopping, we went to this award-winning congee shop - 海皇粥店 (Ocean Empire) for supper! Surprisingly, it's very affordable!

Top: 油条 (You Tiao/Yao Cha Kueh)
Bottom: mini 牛脷酥(Ox Tongue Crisp), mini 咸煎餅(Spicy Doughnut*), mini 煎堆 (Sesame Ball)
*I don't know why it's named Spicy Doughnut, but it's salty instead of spicy.

Top: Porridge (海景粥店(Seaview Congee Shop)'s nicer...)
Bottom: 肠粉 (Cheung Fun)

I like it that most of the restaurants in HK has complete range of sauce on the table.

The end of Day 5.

See, it's shorter xD
...with less photos of me summore :P

Thanks for reading :)

Hong Kong Day 5

Please visit my multiply for more photos! :D *click here*

SCHEDULE

Early Morning
Dragon Hostel

Morning-Late Noon
Admiralty's MTR Station
Hong Kong Island (South): Ocean Park

Evening - Night
Wan Chai/Central: 九记牛腩 (Kau Kee Restaurant), Central-Mid-Levels Escalator and Walkway System, Central Pier, Star Ferry, 龙泽风味美食店

Late Night
Mong Kok: 义顺牛奶公司 (Yee Shun Milk Company)

It was Day 5 and we were already exhausted. Hence, we woke up a little later than usual.

To save time, we had mini breakfast in the hostel...overnight Mochi lol.

Rushed to Admiralty's MTR and bus station, to take bus no. 629 to OCEAN PARK!

We were greeted by a flock of flamingos near the entrance.

After scrutinizing the show schedule, we decided to go downhill (by this cable car) to catch the parrot show first (only one show per day)

This cable car is something like Genting's. It stopped when the wind was too strong. Kinda scary, when we were swinging in the air... The sea is just beside the vehicle. If something is to happen.....

Thanks to the wind...we only managed to watch the last 2 minutes of the show....DAMN. I think it's only a 10-minute show. But, heh, we could still take photos with the birds ;)

We also took picture with this lonely shark. No one took with him haha. He was standing there, leaning against the wall, swinging his fin occasionally..quite amusing haha.

There was also a Madagascar 2 exhibition! Whee!

aww..I blocked Marty!

the mini FBIs

my favourite: moto-moto

Belated Breakfast: Vege rice + Pork Chop

After that, we proceed to watch the pandas eat! :D

They were 4 of them. All of them are so so so CUDDLY and ADORABLE! I feel like squeezing them.

We also witnessed something uncommon. Something that we don't usually see on TV.

PANDA SHITTING

I proudly present you, PANDA SHIT.

Looks like maize don't they??!!!

This explains why these pandas were in maize suit...

Next stop: DOLPHINS

I totally HEART them!

Fish out of water xD

Sea lion~~~ very difficult to take its photo cuz we could not get into the building. Took through the window + zoom.

Then, we went to the Aquarium.
(This is getting more and more like a trip to the zoo =.=)

Clown Fish~

Creepy sea snake...

Some lazy shark leaning on the glass

Find me! One of the smallest sting ray in the aquarium. The largest one was almost as big as my room! -__-

Shark's parking spot

Ugly-looking fat eel. It's..eww..pure hideous!

Sick-looking fish

Lunch: First McD meal in HK!

We heard raves about McD's pork burger, but HK's version of Pork burger is the Sausage McMuffin. The only difference is that the sausage is made of pork. Very nice! I can't decide whether I like this better or Malaysia's Sausage McMuffin (beef). Ok maybe I like the Pork version a wee bit more.

They also have Red Bean Pie! (Bottom of the above pic) It's...not one of my favourite things in the world. He finds it ok, I don't. Probably because I'm not a big fan of red bean. It's too sweet for my liking.

Their apple pie is fine though. Exactly like ours lol.

He ordered Latte and I drank their normal coffee. Not bad! A little pricey for McD's standard though. The latte was more expensive than the burger if I'm not mistaken.

Price of 1 McD burger in HK = 1 McD's value meal in Malaysia (approximately..)

It's fine...but what makes it worse is that the drinks in HK are NOT CHEAP.

See? No difference from our McMuffin.

Now I believe that McD's quality control is one of the top in the world :D

View from tophill

There were 3 long escalators...really looooong...and slow...

It's boring to just stand there and wait, right?

Rollar coasters in Ocean Park were not scary at all XD The one in picture is probably the one that I had most fun with. Steepest and longest in the park.

A show worth watching. The sea lions were sooo cute! And the dolphins? They were pure intelligent!

Last but not least, Jelly Fish Aquarium!

They were very pretty..

Don't they look like RBC (Red Blood Cells)??

Took on the bus while leaving

We then went to Wan Chai/Central's 九记牛腩 (Kau Kee Restaurant). Located behind the Hollywood Street, it lived up to its name as the best 牛腩 (sirloin beef) in HK! Truly tantalizing! THE FOOD THAT I MISS THE MOST IN HK! The curry, the soup, the beef, the tenderloins.... was just...heavenly~~~

What ruined my mood was that, a clumsy fella sitting in front of us accidentally spilled soy sauce over our jeans and shoes. Also, the poor customer service from the lady sitting at the counter. sigh -_-"

After that, we took the Mid-Level Escalator (longest outdoor escalator in the world) to Central Pier. It was not built with escalator all the way. It's more like a bridge that goes through all the main streets and buildings. A looong loong walk.

After like 100km of walking, we finally reached Central Pier. We took a different route home -> STAR FERRY. The oldest ferry service in HK. HKD 2.20 from Central to TST, very affordable indeed XD

Star Ferry suppose to give us the opportunity to enjoy the night view of HK city.

Whee...! Super strong wind!

This is Star Ferry =D

Snacks: Pig neck (tasted like pig ears) and Bacon+Sausage (Very nice! Oily though)

Supper: 双皮奶 at 义顺牛奶公司 (Yee Shun Milk Company) I don't know what it's being called in English (Google translated it as Double Skinned Milk Stew, LOL, funny!). But it's like Tau Foo Fah made of milk. If you like milk, you will love it. We? LOVE it!

Darn...another long post.
I really am long-winded -____-

Hong Kong Day 4

Please visit my multiply for more photos! *Click here*

SCHEDULE

Early Morning

Mong Kok: 海景粥店 (Seaview Congee Shop)

Morning - Noon
Lantau Island: Ngong Ping 360, Big Buddha, 宝莲禅寺

Late Noon - Night
Tsim Sha Tsui: random food stall, Hong Kong Museum of History, 龙泽风味美食店, Harbour City, Ocean Terminal, 澳门茶餐厅
(Macau Restaurant)

Our breakfast! At 海景粥店 again! We ordered Cheung Fun (肠粉, with BIG juicy prawns!!), porridge and a bacon+egg sandwich.

Mong Kok's Subway Station

We took Subway to Tung Chung (东涌), then cable car to Ngong Ping 360. This photo is taken in front of the cable car station.

On the cable car. The ride was about 20-25 minutes long. So we took the opportunity to enjoy the scenery of Lantau Island...

Top: Sea.. Err...My guess is... South China Sea!
Middle: Chek Lap Kok International Airport
Bottom: Some unknown fella's grave on top of a mountain, facing the Big Buddha. Good Feng Shui!! His cucu cicik will need to use helicopter to visit him/her...

Top: A walking road leading to Ngong Ping 360/Big Buddha. Would you rather take that road or a 25-minute cable car ride????
Bottom: Nice weather again :)

We'd finally reach!

Look! The little figures are CHINESE =D

Big bear vs Tiny me

We find it amusing to see a Chinese style building selling Starbucks coffee..The cultural clash...btw, whacha looking at?!

Ah-Zha~~ XD

I'm the man. *nose up high*

Oklah...I'm the lay-deh~ xD

Up we went to the Big Buddha. The staircase are reaaaaaally high! It was only halfway and we were already breathing like cows. Just kidding...we're not that lousy ;) It's only for photo purpose.

Big Buddha says HI

...and that was how we greet HIM.. :P

Just kidding..again. must pay some respect.

It was scorching hot up there...he could take off his jacket, but I couldn't take off my dress T-T

SO, as soon as we got down, we indulge ourselves in a bowl of icy cold Tau Foo Fah. It was made using pure mineral water from the mountains. Again, it tasted different from Malaysia's, as in, it's softer. 绵绵的~

Another doggie photo. A blue-eyed Siberian Husky this time! He was adopted. ADOPTED. Who could have the heart to abandon such a handsome dog??!!!

How come Malaysia's pet adoption centres don't have such nice dogs? My ex-boss adopted his toy poodle from SPCA or something, too (in US).

宝莲禅寺 (temple). Penang's Kek Lok Si has more things to see IMO...

Can you tell that we were trying to imitate the dragon's look? It's ok if you can't..... *hides at a dark corner*

WIP (Work in progress)....sigh

DJ Yong and DJ Chian speaking yo!

Camwhore before the show starts.

Btw..it's a cartoon about the origin of Buddha. It's either I did not turn on loud enough or my earphone was malfunction.. I could not hear a single word from the narrator. So I watched the show with only background music, and my own understanding of Buddha's story. =.=" (I did not know there was any story telling until the end of the show when my dear told me, that's why I did not tell the staff)

On the cable car again.
Left: Apartments
Right (optic+digital zoom): 汪洋中的一条船 lol

Snack: 鸡蛋仔

Next, we went to Hong Kong Museum of History in Tsim Sha Tsui.

I find this photo a little creepy.

Left: Grandpa~ I want some candies (caption by him)
Right: Hmph, I'm better than you (caption by me)

A dinosaur appearing out of nowhere scares me. (Museum of Science)

*Take THAT*

Snacks
Left: Huge Sausage (VERY NICE) and Curry Fishball (not so nice...)

Right: Black Sesame Mochi from City Super

Took from the top floor of Ocean Terminal/Harbour City

Dinner: Egg Tarts (very nice!), Coffee (nice unique taste) and Lemon Tea (I love ALL Lemon Tea in HK)

Dinner 1: 咖喱牛腩 (err...Curry Beef Sirloin?) - He likes it. I only like the curry. Huge amount of rice btw...

Dinner 2: 葡式猪扒包 (Portugese style Pork Burger) - not bad

A very long post...
Thanks for your patience :D

Hong Kong Day 3

Please visit my multiply*<-clicky click* for more photos!

I actually been to more places than those mentioned in my blogs. But I can't exactly remember the names of the streets haha. So anyway...

SCHEDULE

Early Morning
Mong Kok: 海景粥店 (Seaview Congee Shop)

Morning - Noon
Stanley (赤柱): 赤柱市场 (Stanley Market)

Late Noon - Evening
Central: Queen's Road Central, Hollywood Road, Cat Street, Man Mo Temple, Ladder Street, few shopping malls, 镛记烧鹅(Yung Kee) (Didn't eat there..), Lan Kwai Fong, 杏花楼

Night
Mong Kok: 大家乐 (Cafe de Coral)

The best porridge we had in HK.

This restaurant (海景粥店) is only few shops away from where we stayed. It's a little different from the ones in Malaysia. Definitely not Teochew style, whereby you can still see the rice. We tried 艇仔粥 (I remember there was pig's skin, and some others, oh and some crispy groundnuts in it =.=) and 海景公司粥 (VERY NICE, larger portion, has a bit of everything, except for pig's blood, eww). Price was ok. The porridge ranges from HKD 16/17 to 23. Cheap in HK's standard.

炸两 (zha leong). I've heard of it sooo much! Finally can get my mouth on it!

It's actually 肠粉 (cheung fun) enveloping the 油条 (you tiao, commonly called Yau Char Kueh here). And it's OH-SO-GOOD! No kidding! We're suppose to dip it into the black sauce (soy sauce + some other spice/flavouring). It tasted even better when dipped into the porridge. But it has to be eaten while it's hot, if not the Yau Char Kueh will be softened and it won't be as nice.

We also tried to eat the 油条 with Soy Bean Milk. 豆浆油条 mah. Still, not as nice as eating it with porridge ;)

After that, we took train to the Admiralty (金钟) station and then bus to Stanley Market (Located at the South of Hong Kong Island)!

We hopped off the bus at Stanley Plaza, as my senses told me "this is it"! But we couldn't see a sign of the market. We though we dropped off too early. The entrance of the mall is the highest level of the building. Weird.

Going DOWN the plaza, we saw this! A sign showing us the way to Stanley Market, Murray House and a few temples! Woohoo! xD

STRONG CHILLY WIND. Murray House on the right. It's where all the high class restaurants are at. We didn't bother to go in.

Before going into Stanley market, we decided to take a walk by the sea (no beach =p).

No one to take photo for us...so... xD

My mom says I look mature in photos. What.. does it mean that I look childish/kiddy in real life?? =.=

Lots of huge rocks + Strong wind from the sea. Kinda scary to climb from one rock to another.

After taking like zillions of photos (oklah, not that many), I started my shopping spree! Yes, me, I. He couldn't get a thing from there lol. Check out the 2 Collies behind!

Another doggie wearing clothes! Aww he/she looks so cute in red!! Can't see his face?

There you go! Black and Shiny! ^^

After some shopping (and a lot of price bargaining), we went back up North with a different bus, which takes a slightly different route - the mountain route! A little rocky and bouncy along the way =.= I tried to take a short nap but ended up swinging back and forth.

The bus dropped us at an unknown place in Central =.=" Not even Central Subway Station! But it's one of the main road of Central. We had to look at the map ourselves. I was freezing because of the thin jacket.

While we were street-searching, we saw this Golden Bull! It's 2009! Cow's year! I know it's a little late but....HAPPY NEW YEAR!

After miles of searching, we finally found Man Mo Temple (文武庙)! Not that hard to find, it's located alongside Hollywood Road (sells all sorts of antique). But the directions given in the book is a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle misleading. Ventilation should also be improved in the temple. Sooo smokey =.="

拜拜~ btw, I was using my new bag, bought from Stanley Market :D

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Man Mo Temple, small and tiny.

TVB drama lovers, do you find this familiar? THINK. I'm sure you've seen this place before. It's called the Ladder Street (楼梯街). A looooooooooooong stretch of staircase. What's in photo is only a fraction of it.

Our original plan was to visit The Peak and Madame Tussauds' Wax Museum (which is also up in the mountains), but we got lazy and decided to ditch it for 5 reasons:
1) It was kinda late, we might not be able to watch the sun set from The Peak. Only night view of the city. And the Wax Museum.
2) We heard quite a lot of bad reviews about the wax museum, for it being too small, wax figures not as real.
3) He has been to a few disappointing wax museums in China.
4) The entrance of the wax museums is not cheap. (HKD 115-120)
5) We were just plain lazy to walk to Central Pier (must take cable car from there to go uphills). We were tired, hungry and cold =( Ok, I was the only one who felt cold. He has a natural barrier to cold wind i.e. body fat. LOL.

SO, we decided to shop around Central! Whee! Well, it's all high end brands, or average high. We could only window shop most of the time.

Oh, a lady said that my new handbag is very nice lol. She also claimed that I got a great deal for a leather bag in HK. But she said that Stanley Market is too far for them. I was like, what? It's only max 20 minutes bus ride away from Central =.=

As for dinner, according to our itinerary, we were suppose to eat at Lan Fong Yuen (兰芳园). We heard that their Pork Burger (猪扒包) and Milk Tea (奶茶) are tantalizing! And so, we embarked on our search for the tiny shop in Central.

We passed by this famous restaurant Yung Kee (镛记烧鹅) which sells roasted goose. As a poor couple, we decided to give it a miss. It would have cost about HKD250 per person!!!!!
Left photo: My arms are too short to take a full-faced shot =.=
Right photo: Hence, he has to take another one.

After walking for like forever, we finally found Lan Fong Yuen, which is situated near Lan Kwai Fong (about 2km distance I'd say, but imagine walking that kind of distance lol)....only to found that it was CLOSED like less than 10 minutes ago???? WTF!

Poor us. Cold, hungry, sore feet, and having a strong urge to pee.

In the end we settled on a dessert store named 杏花楼 (Hang Fah Lao).

I ordered Sesame Paste and he ordered a....mango+黑糯米(black glutinous beans?rice?)+some white err vanilla sauce? I couldn't tell. I think it was called 芒果紫米粥. This shop has no english name.

Dessert was not enough to satisfy us (DUH). We went back to Mong Kok, and settled on Cafe de Coral Fast Food (大家乐).

Some yummy salted chicken rice set that comes with soup (老火汤) and herbal tea (花旗参+芦荟or something).

And that's the end of Day 3.
Phew!
Pretty long huh. I guess I'm having the blogging mood tonight.

Day 4 will be out this weekend.

Till then!

Hong Kong Day 2

Please visit my multiply*<-clicky click* for more photos!

SCHEDULE

Early Morning
Mong Kok: 富豪茶餐厅

Morning - Evening
Lantau Island: Hong Kong Disneyland

Night
Mong Kok: 许留山

Camwhore before leaving the hostel :P

Breakfast-that-was-somewhat-disappointing. We expected something more "Hong Kong".

The Disneyland subway! See how cute the handle is!!

A bunch of excited Japanese kids around us.

We were not allowed to bring food into Disneyland. However, we tried to sneak in breads and buns by hiding it IN my jacket in his backpack. (Food in there is overpriced!!)

All bags would have to be checked. While lining up for that, we saw a staff (from another counter/lane) taking out food from another customer's backpack and threw it away. A rubbish bin was prepared right beside them =.="

When it was our turn, our bags were checked...THROUGHLY. The lady ransacked everything in the backpack...Took out my jacket, OPENED THE ZIP, took out the bread... She stopped for a second. We held our breath and acted normal, felt a little embarrassed lol. She then quietly put it back into the jacket and let us go. We immediately thank her and get into the park! She's such an understanding lady!!

Weather was really good on that day. Good as in, warm! Not much wind. But what I didn't like is, the CROWD. GOD! It was practically like 'ass' to 'ass' man (not shown here, this is only the entrance).

In the Art of Animation. It's interesting to see the drafts of a cartoon.

This machine here spins, creating an illusion of those puppets waving their hands, galloping..etc

We also met Pluto and Goofy on the streets! Nah, we lined up to take photo with them :P

I have a strange liking for this 3-eyed alien from Toy Story.

The Golden Mickeys is one of the shows that make my ticket worth it. We lined up for 45 minutes for it, to get good seats. Crazy isn't it?

Their Christmas Parade themed "Let It Snow". More photos in my multiply :) I'm only showing this little alien here just because I like it!

P/S: I just found out that it's called "Squeeze Toy Alien".

The Sleeping Beauty Castle is a little small IMO..Much smaller than the one in Tokyo Disneyland. Btw, look at the crowd!!! Crazy man! Couldn't take a proper photo at all.

The castle at night. It was still christmas themed.

We had dinner at..I can't remember the name of the restaurant :( I only remember it is located beside a huge Buzz Lightyear, at the Futuristic Park. Mushroom Soup, Chicken Flavoured Rice, Beef Burger Steak, Tomatoes and Cucumber. I'm surprised that they tasted really good! Maybe I was hungry :P

I didn't take any photos of the fireworks display, took a video instead. I tried to upload it into youtube but it failed/hanged! I don't know. It took too long cuz I've already left it on for 24 hours! Mind you, the file is as huge as 700mb+.

And oh, the fireworks were magnificient! Makes the ticket worth.

I'll try to upload the video here.

After that, we took a walk in Mong Kok around the place where we stay. Soooo many people walking at late night. Don't these people need to sleep??!!

Do note that the stores are open until 11 or 12 midnight!!! They close a little earlier in weekends, like 11pm? Weird huh?

And, we had supper at the famous dessert store 许留山 (Hui Lau Shan Healthy Dessert). We had a mango dessert and some curry mix. Both tasted heavenly~~ The dessert that I miss the most in HK! Anyone who's going to HK MUST try 许留山 :D

That's about it for Day 2.

Thanks for reading! :)

Hong Kong Day 1

Please visit my multiply*<-clicky click* for more photos! Flickr does not allow me to upload more than 1G per month :(

I'm lazy to type, so I shall let the photos to do most of the talking.

Here goes!

SCHEDULE

Early Morning
on AirAsia airplane

Morning
Reach Macau
Took ferry (First Ferry) to HK-China Ferry Station in Tsim Sha Tsui

Afternoon - Evening
Mong Kok: Dragon Hostel
Tsim Sha Tsui: 龙泽风味美食店,金湖粉面茶餐馆,Kowloon Park, Charlie Brown Cafe, Avenue of Stars

Night
Yao Ma Tei: Temple Street, 兴记菜馆

We witnessed our first sunrise together, on the plane.

Our very first meal in HK! Beside the streets in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST). It's located right next to the MTR station. Very nice! A little too salty though. It's called lobster something. I doubt there is any lobster meat in it though lol.

We took a walk at Kowloon Park in the evening. This is a maze btw. The park is super big!

Dear's attempt to be artistic.

We purposely find this Charlie Brown Cafe in the heart of TST. Just because I love Snoopy so much!

See how cute are the things in there!! The pricing is like Starbucks, might be a little higher, not too pricey in HK terms. Surprisingly, they tasted good, too!

We also went to see the Symphony of Lights at the Avenue of Stars. Nothing much, except for the chilly wind. A very nice Malaysian helped us take the photo.

A really cute Pomeranian I saw at Temple Street. I get to see a lot of dogs on the street. 80% of them wore clothes lol.

This doggie here wore a piggy shirt!!!!!! Super cute.

This is HK's version of 蚝煎 (O-jien. something like fried oyster). It's cheaper than the ones in Penang (surprisingly, cuz their food is really pricey! A simple meal will cost around RM20++ per person), much nicer too! One of the food that I miss the most in HK!

Day 2 will be up once the photos are all uploaded into my Multiply.
